“Portraits of young men who were born after my period started photographed in their New York City apartments”

2017, all 8x10” (20x25cm) wet plate collodion prints on metal, unique.

All these pieces make up one single work. There are some issues of time, specific moments on the timeline and in ones’ life, ie age and generational dynamics. Each participant was under the age 27 and usually lived with roommates, thus their bedrooms were the site of personal expression. In order to create a field darkroom in the room, heavy equipment was lugged into each space.Everyone on the “set” had an iPhone. People this age and male identifying are often difficult to make plans with. The term “difficulty fetish” kept coming to mind about this project. All of that is part of the project.
